I had to go to the store and pick up our order, the air is awful so we are stuck home. But I did drive around a neighborhood on the way, I have posted some of these before, like the Land Cruiser guy house. But he has awesome stuff! This Whole Foods pick up is great for me, I hate going into stores anyway, I go, the wagon back opens with a motor, they put it in and I close it. Voila!
It will have to be a flashback

Saying goodbye, I wonder if they ever met again. Seems like they might have. I had a similar day with my wife. We did meet again!

Woah. I thought they didn’t even sell this gen in the US. Was it always a pickup or is this a conversion?

Oh he made it, my dad has an FJ55 in MT and my uncle used to have one too . I’ve seen these turned into flatbeds and crawlers because the roof rusts off of them and then gets worse. Montana is dry and my dad keeps in inside so his is ok.

I’ve never seen one. I see tons of the first gens but never one second gen. Toyota really couldn’t make a rust resistant vehicle until this century, could they?

Oh, and RENAULT CARAVELLE! I LOVE THOSE THINGS! Just noticed that. It even appears to be a rare hardtop.

66 Galaxie and Buick in front of it, both on apparent original plates, have to be owned by the same guy. Nice obviously new Torino GT and 8 lugs on the Pontiac, too.
My uncle was in ‘Nam, Marines, he an Austin-Heale y 3000 - I need to see if he has any good pics.

Well Toyota had this habit of making a seam around the roof and water just sits in the little indentation. Why would you do that? There was a fiberglass replacement you could get in Australia I heard, they used body shop adhesive to replace it and it looked exactly the same, just not metal. They did sell them here, I do see them from time to time.

So you did! They’re out there, somewhere. I haven’t seen one in a while, though I don’t go out nearly as often (nor do I live somewhere with a steady stream of cool cars).

Really boring people have sport wagons here. I see about five over and over and then a few here and there that I know are not the usual ones. There are no black usual ones.

It’s a shame, very few of those poor souls, if any, know that they’re driving a rare and ravishing station wagon. One that’s both very practical and a hoot to drive. B ut oh well, more for us to appreciate I suppose.
